Most insurance plans cover the cost of seasonal flu vaccines. Patients also may request a seasonal flu shot at any regular visit.
In light of the current pandemic, getting a seasonal flu vaccine will be more important than ever this year, according to The Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The agency recommends everyone at least 6 months of age get a flu shot every flu season, which typically runs from October to May. Flu shots reduce the chances of contracting the flu and spreading the virus to others.
PLEASE NOTE: The seasonal flu shot does not protect you from developing COVID-19. It will reduce the chances of getting seasonal flu.
