TriHealth announced today it will build a new four story, 112,000 square foot ambulatory facility along I-71 in Kenwood. The announcement was made by John Prout, president and chief executive officer of TriHealth.  Construction will begin on the project later this summer with an opening date anticipated at the end of 2015.

“This new facility will make it easier for our patients to receive a broad range of services in one convenient location,” said Prout. “It will allow us to co-locate, integrate and expand a number of physician and ambulatory services now at various locations. This is an important step in meeting the needs of our growing patient population in northeastern Cincinnati. “

Facility Offers Expanded Services, Primary Care and Specialty Institutes

The new facility will be four times the size of the current Group Health Kenwood facility, which will be torn down to make way for the new building. It will be readily visible along 1-71 just north of the Montgomery Road exit.

The project will include an expansion of the current Group Health Kenwood office.  Additionally, the project will enable TriHealth to expand the TriHealth Cancer Institute (TCI) and TriHealth Heart Institute (THI) from the Bethesda North campus allowing both institutes to add oncologists and cardiologists at the new location. The facility will also offer on-site diagnostic imaging, including CT, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography and dexa scanning.

Group Health Kenwood currently uses 24,000 square feet located on the site. Group Health’s group practices currently offer pediatrics, adult primary care, OB/GYN and other specialty services in this location. In addition to being at capacity, this move will allow the group to grow from five to eight adult primary care physicians and add six new specialists.

TriHealth has retained Cincinnati-based Scott Street Partners to develop the property and build the facility.
